Summer Camps provide the most memorable experiences many of us enjoy during our formative years. Specialized camps are cherished even more, as they are often skill based and further or develop a passion for those who enroll. Mobile Doc Shop is designed to deliver a fun but earnest environment for youth to develop life skills through documentary film making.
Today, we are over saturated with information. The quality of that information is often questionable and unfortunately we are not able to provide parental filters as effectively as we would like.
Documentaries have however, maintained a high level of respectability because they are either based on fact or on perspectives which are clearly defined. We help youth to tell stories based on either fact or their own perspective. We teach them to know the difference, help them to probe for answers in lieu of settling for opinions.
Smartphone technology has made documentary film making more accessible. We are proud to be one of the first camps to use smartphones as a tool to provide a fun environment to encourage youth to use their smartphones responsibly. Our goal is to provide a memorable and lasting experience from which our participants can benefit on an ongoing basis.
We hope that you will join us in our efforts to give your child a creative outlet for their thoughts, their stories and their abilities to understand the ever changing environment of information technology.
