2022 Spring/Summer Camp Programs

2022 Virtual Spring Break Camps

A safe, healthy and engaging campus has always been Ontario Tech University’s No. 1 priority. That’s why we’ve taken a conservative approach to allowing in-person activities on campus during COVID-19.

In line with this approach, the university’s Office of Continuous Learning will offer enriching learning experiences for children and youth through the virtual delivery of its 2022 spring camp programs.

We are pleased to offer a wide variety of camp activities to engage children and youth in a virtual environment. Camps will be staffed by Ontario Certified teachers (OCT), teacher candidates in the Faculty of Education program at Ontario Tech University, and University staff members. Camp sessions will have small numbers to ensure interactivity and active engagement.

Sessions will run on a university approved platform (Zoom or Google Meet). Information will be provided, in advance of each camp, about how to access the online space as well as explanations on the format of the camp. For the camps, you will need a computer with an internet connection and audio capabilities. Computers (laptops, Chromebooks) are preferable vs. a tablet/iPad for the meetings. All coding camps will require access to a computer. Please review the website for Technology Requirements, Required physical materials and Supervision and support requirements.

The majority of camps will require minimal parent support once the camp site has been successfully accessed. Camps for younger children will benefit from some support (or older sibling or adult) at the start of the daily session to ensure that the camper has access to the meeting room. Counsellors will then be the main support during the camp activities! Technical support will be available during the camp sessions.

Summer 2022

The university’s Office of Continuous Learning is thoughtfully planning to offer both in-person and virtual 2022 Summer Camp programing and activities (as public-health guidelines permit).

As we plan our upcoming camp offerings, Continuous Learning continues to re-evaluate measures put in place by the Province of Ontario and Durham Region Health Department guidelines.

Please note: In-person delivery of our 2022 Summer Camps programing is subject to Ontario Tech University policies, directives, and health and safety protocols, including processes based on measures put in place by the Province of Ontario and Durham Region Health Department guidelines.
