There are a plethora of places across the GTA that offer workshops in just about anything that sparks your interest. To give you an idea, here are eight spots in Toronto where you can pick up a new skill and explore your creative side.
Articulations (articulations.ca) offers a variety of art classes and workshops for adults and children, as well as its popular Sketchbook Challenge held each March. Art enthusiasts can learn printmaking techniques, how to paint watercolours, bookbinding, letterpress printing. There are also one-day workshops in Pysanka (the art of Ukrainian Easter Egg painting) as well as camps for kids. “The flavour right now is single-day workshops because people are busy and the last thing you want when you’re trying to pursue a creative endeavour is to feel like it’s another thing you have to schedule,” says artist and owner Heather Phillips. “My art has always been about facilitating … about how to help others make things or engage.”
