After searching through Guelph, we finally stumbled upon the perfect space to run our camps this summer! While enjoying a nice evening playing boardgames at the Boardroom - Guelph's Game Cafe in downtown Guelph, we discovered that their space is only opened in the evenings and therefore would be available for our campers to learn in a safe and clean space during the day. After approaching the owners, we agreed that this would be a perfect it AND they gave us permission to incorporate over 600 boardgames into our camps! From there we got planning and developed ideas for 8 different camps for Grades 3 to 9 that could run in the space. We will have STEM Gamers which lets campers learn about STEM while playing games. STEM Team which covers various topics in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math as well as Girl STEMpowerment which offers similar programs but for all girls! Innovative Designers for those campers who like to build and test structures like engineers would and Math Riddlers for those kids who love to solve puzzles! We also will be teaching basic computer programming through Computer Programmers, Video Game Developers, and Robotics. If you want to check out the space, the Boardroom is open for gaming every night and on weekends. Check them out here http://www.theboardroomguelph.ca/
Looking forward to an amazing summer!
