Coding is practically involved in almost all aspects of our lives from communications and education to social media, information, apps, and phones. The LSA software coding program allows our students to develop skills associated with computer programming which challenges them to new ways of thinking and problem-solving techniques. Our students learn all of the essential concepts to manipulate computer logic thinking and control the information flow to program their solutions for different tasks. The software program educates students on the basic fundamentals of coding. Students use a coding platform called Scratch developed by the MIT Media Lab. They will design a personalized project and develop their very own online portfolio that will teach them valuable skills that they can transfer over into other aspects of technology. With Code Breakers, the students learn autonomy and how to find problems within their own codes or designs and fix them with minimal support from the instructors.
Once a student has mastered Scratch and the skills that were learned through the program, they are able to move up to our computer programming 2.0 program, App Genius. Students will have to apply prior knowledge of skills and software programming to challenge themselves further and take their programming to a whole new level!
