Mattel's Barbie held a contest in the fall of 2018, which was open to girls ages 7 to 12 living in the Greater Toronto Area. The theme was You Can Be a Journalist. Our very own Judy Ma won first place! She received a $10,000 scholarship, was given the opportunity to write two articles (for YMC.ca and the National post), and was mentored by Erica Ehm.
With the help of Power of Words Academy and Barbie You Can Be Anything Program, Judy has taken the first steps towards a career in journalism. Congratulations to Judy from your Power of Words Family! We are so proud of you!
