From regular day camps, to overnight camps, to school workshops and trips, to our big 15-day sojourn through Quebec, Camp Tournesol has been one of the top destinations for parents throughout Southern Ontario looking for good supplemental French-learning programs for the past twenty years.
We've recently added flexible online classrooms and 1-on-1 tutoring for kids who want or need some extra help keeping up with their second language! Camp Tournesol also provides employment for up to 90 high school and university students in the Southern Ontario region every year!
For a number of years now, Martine has also subsidized 30 to 50 campers from disadvantaged families to attend her day camps each year via the Camp Tournesol Espoir not-for-profit organization. Martine finds it important to be able to support children in their bilingual journey regardless of their income level.
Camp Tournesol also supports several local charities in various ways, such as cooking with children at drop-in organization 'The Dam in Cooksville' and subsidizing the planting of over 5,000 trees through the Tree for the Future organization. Camp Tournesol is also proud to donate to Eva’s Initiative, an organization that helps homeless youth get the skills and support they need for a better future, as well as the Boys and Girls Club of Canada, which helps children and youth develop the skills they need to succeed.
