Join other LGBTQ2S-identifying youth from across the GTA for a week-long expedition that explores urban greenspaces, builds skills and community, and facilitates stronger connections between individuals, the group and the natural world. Learn functional backpacking and camping techniques, travel a section of the iconic Bruce Trail and experience the thrill of rappelling from the Niagara Escarpment.
Designed especially for LGBTQ2S-identifying youth ages 15-18, this course aims to provide a supportive space in which to explore issues such as individuality and diversity, alongside an authentic urban wilderness experience that will arm participants with both technical and personal skills that can be taken back to their own communities, schools, and workplaces. Participants will gain both technical and personal skills that they will be able to take back to their community, school and work. This unique course will introduce you to new activities and adventures in the stunning wilderness that exists in the greenspaces within close proximity to the city, and start you on an inspiring journey of discovery, helping you to unlock your true potential and gain a clearer understanding of what you’re capable of.
