Go on an adventure through the greenspaces of Toronto with a new group of peers. Over the course of two weeks we will explore the local trails and waterways to discover new parts of the city, make new friends, and build a cohesive team all while hiking, climbing and paddling. Whether you are an outdoors person or are new to expeditions, this is your opportunity to seek out an adventure and reconnect with others in nature.

This program will begin each day at the Evergreen Brick Works in the Don Valley.  The program will run Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 4:00pm and use a variety of locations in and around Toronto, but will be predominantly based at our Toronto urban program center at the Brick Works.

Throughout the program, you will have the opportunity to try a variety of outdoor activities such as flatwater canoeing, hiking, and high ropes.  You will carry everything you need with you throughout the day while they are exploring.  You will learn paddling strokes, map reading and navigation, camping skills, Leave No Trace Principles, and improve your teamwork and leadership skills.  These activities will be done within the Public Health guidelines for day camps and may be adjusted during the program to reflect the current regulations.

Character Development: This program helps build the following traits

  • Resilience: Participants will step out of the comfort of daily routines and into an adventurous and exciting, yet foreign and uncertain environment. Using the challenges of the course, instructors will teach participants how to transfer the skills they learned to their everyday lives.
  • Interpersonal skills: Participants will share the leadership of the group, taking ownership of consequences and outcomes, and learning how to appropriately delegate roles and accept support. As they grow and excel individually so will the team, ensuring the entire group achieves outstanding success.
