Are you ready for an exciting wilderness adventure?
Refine your paddling skills, and learn to navigate whitewater by a canoe while improving your problem-solving and decision-making skills. During this expedition, you will learn to analyze risks and build a strong team capable of overcoming any challenge thrown your way.
AREA & ACTIVITIES
You will paddle through lakes and rivers in the Temagami and Algoma Districts, which has been home to the Cree and Anishinabewaki Peoples for time immemorial. Explore the rugged landscape of the Canadian Shield as you venture through lakes and rivers lined with dense boreal forests and rocky shores.
During the course, you will progress from navigating calm flatwater to more lively whitewater. Everything needed for the expedition will be packed in your canoe. The skills learned will include paddling strokes, map reading and navigation, camp skills, Leave No Trace, and teamwork and leadership. This route includes several portages where you will need to work as a team to carry your equipment around unnavigable rapids.
