Ridley College’s Advance Performance Hockey Programme is open ONLY to athletes currently playing at the AA or AAA hockey level. This elite programme will be accepting 20 skaters plus 3 goalies ages 9-11 years per weekly session.
**Registration for Week One will close May 21st and successful applicants will be notified by May 31st.
**Registration for Week Two will close July 2, 2021 and successful applicants will be notified by July 9, 2021
Since 1889, the Ridley name has been synonymous with excellence in hockey. Today, hockey is celebrated as one of Ridley’s elite sports teams, and now athletes have the chance to experience this through our Advanced Performance Hockey Camp. Our elite hockey programme is focused on elevating core fundamentals while advancing each player’s skillset. The on-ice curriculum is designed in a way to ensure players are challenged to incorporate skill development with positional awareness and expectations. Conditioning and speed will be integrated in both the on and off ice training for these AA and AAA level athletes. The Advanced Performance Hockey Camp will include a number of small area competitive games to magnify the skills and tactics emphasized in today’s competitive hockey climate. On-ice sessions will be fast-paced, encouraging all participants to integrate conditioning and speed into all facets of the programme. This robs advanced programme will be instructed by Ridley's own high performance senior coaching staff.
- Low Camper to Coach Ratio of 4:1
- Three hours of On-Ice training per day
- Specialized Goalie Coach and Strength and Conditioning Trainer
- Ridley's own high performance senior coaching staff with experience playing and instructing at the college, university and national level.
- Weekly swim sessions and Off-Ice activities.
- 24 hour on campus health centre staffed with licensed medical professionals
- A Ridley reversible hockey jersey and dry-wick off-ice training shirt for each athlete
- Hot lunch daily

Shooting in Stride: Quick release - One timers - Accuracy - Deflections and redirections - Deking
Puck Control: Quick hands - Evasive puck control - Attacking the triangle - Pick protection - Absorbing contact
Passing and Playmaking: Vision - Anticipation - Outlet passing - Passing in traffic, through opponents - Passing to space, indirect, area passes - Utilization of all passes, touch, saucer, etc
Defense: Transitional skating and puck movement - Backward skating, edge work and pivoting - Puck recoveries - Elusive skating - Outlet skating - Outlet passing - Creating offence - Angling and gap control
Forwards: Puck protection - Playing without the puck - Creating offence - Passing, shooting, quick release - Creating offence in small areas
Goalies: Tracking - Mobility/Stance - Recoveries - Slides - Game scenarios
There is limited space for goalies, who will receive specialized training. Registrants will be notified of acceptance
All athletes all required to supply their own equipment.
