This program includes:

  • Learning reading, writing, numeracy, and coding skills through one-on-one and peer-group sessions with their class teacher
  • Practicing English and Math skills with printable worksheets assigned by the teacher based on individualized assessment
  • Social Carpet Time with friends from class to discuss various topics (including Show and Tell)
  • Placement in one of our four House League Teams to participate in school-wide games 
  • (optional) 5 fun themes to follow when getting ready for class: (Mon - Fri in order: Crazy Hair Day, Pyjama Day, Jersey Day, Hat Day, House Pride Day)

Sidney Ledson Institute’s Kindergarten Program is designed to prepare students with the critical academic and socio-emotional abilities needed to pursue enriched Elementary grade programs. 

Participants in the program work on the fundamentals of numeracy (extending to cover the six strands of Ontario curriculum math, including Financial Literacy), as well as phonetic articulation and semantic strategy; they are guided through reading with the renowned Ledson method and are engaged in comprehension exercises. Furthermore, members of the program connect with their friends and teacher in engaging guided group discussions about topics spanning a variety of subjects, including but not exclusive to Science, History, Story-Telling, Character Skills, Life Skills, and International Themes.

More details on the Spring Camp:


  • 1-hour worksheet instruction/assistance with teacher and classmates (9:00am - 10:00am)
  • Assigned 10-minute one-on-one video-chat reading lesson with the teacher (between 10:20am and 11:40am)
  • 20-minute Carpet Time (11:40am-12:00pm)
  • 30-minute House League game (12:00pm-12:30pm)


  • Google Meets for video-chat
  • Google Classroom for access to posted schedules, assignments, written communication with the teacher, and Meet links


  • Printer (with paper/pencils) or tablet (with stylus) for completing worksheets
  • Regular Gmail account
  • Computer (with installation of a Chrome internet browser and usable webcam) or a mobile device (with installation of the Google Classroom App and Google Meets app and usable camera)
