Duke Of Edinburgh Award

Students will work in a group of bronze,silver, or gold medals, over a specified time period to complete the medal. They will  have Bi-weekly Mentorship Meetings with a VOS Duke of Ed. Assessor to help point them in the right direction and keep them on track to meet their medal requirements ( Physical Recreation / Skill Building / Community Service / Adventurous Learning ).

Bronze Medal

• Bi-weekly 2-hour group tracking and planning meeting with VOS registered Duke of Edinburgh Assessors ( 13 meetings in total )
• Registration of participants for Duke of Edinburgh – medal specific
• An assessor to sign off on the Duke of Edinburgh tracking journal
• A 1-day qualifying practice Adventurous Journey
• A 2-day, overnight qualifying Adventurous Journey
• Food, activity expenses and transportation from VOS HQ to the Adventurous Journey location

Silver Medal

• Bi-weekly 2-hour group tracking and planning meeting with VOS registered Duke of Edinburgh Assessors ( 13 meetings in total )
• Registration of participants for Duke of Edinburgh – medal specific
• An assessor to sign off on the Duke of Edinburgh tracking journal
• A 1-day + overnight qualifying practice Adventurous Journey
• A 3-day, 2 overnight qualifying Adventurous Journey
• Food, activity expenses and transportation from VOS HQ to the Adventurous Journey location

Gold Medal

• Bi-weekly 2-hour group tracking and planning meeting with VOS registered Duke of Edinburgh Assessors ( 26 meetings in total )
• Registration of participants for Duke of Edinburgh – medal specific
• An assessor to sign off on the Duke of Edinburgh tracking journal
• A 1-day + overnight qualifying practice Adventurous Journey
• A 4-day, 3-night qualifying Adventurous Journey
• Food, activity expenses and transportation from VOS HQ to the Adventurous Journey location

You can choose Group or Individual Program

• Group Program: Participants will work with a group of up to twelve students to complete their selected medals. All meeting times and trip times are secured and can not be adjusted to suit individual needs.
• Individual Program: Participants will work 1-on-1 with VOS Instructors to complete their medal. The Mentorship Meetings will still be on a biweekly basis, but the times will be a bit more flexible. Individual Program participants will have the opportunity to take part in one of our Group Programs currently offered Adventurous Journeys.

Adventurous Journey Option

Participants looking for just the ‘Adventurous Journey’ component will have to get in touch with VOS  to determine the next available date of their requested medal ‘Adventurous Journey’ and the availability of that trip.
