This innovative camp for children ages 7-9 will focus on an age-appropriate introduction to coding and robotics in the mornings and stop-motion animation in the afternoons.
Creative computer coding fun and learning with a variety of tools including online coding puzzles, hands-on coding games, storytelling, crafting & creating, and programmable robots.
The focus is fun, perseverance, creativity, teamwork, and developing new skills.
The stop-motion part of the camp will empower students to plan, record, and edit their very own animation using props and materials from the maker lab.
Total beginners welcome!
We’ll use Engineering Design Process to help us create attachments and code that enable our robots (and ourselves) to complete climate action challenges.
We’ll work as a group on and off computers and explore the idea that technology can be a force for positive environmental change.
We’ll gain an understanding of computers “under the hood”, and explore algorithms, sequencing, loops, conditionals, bugs, and debugging using simplified drag-and-drop block coding. We’ll take all that new knowledge and use it to work through environmentally-themed challenges with “Dash and Dot”, our programmable robots.Visit website to register
