The size of MSW is a draw, as is the CCMA accreditation. The program retains a high fidelity to the philosophy and methods that Maria Montessori developed—the founder was instructed by Maria Montessori’s granddaughter—and builds out from there, as with the inclusion of yoga and daily immersive French within the curriculum. Before and after school care is a plus, as is a high level of individual, student-guided instructional attention. The school is located in a residential neighbourhood, creating a good sense of place, something that is a cornerstone of the method. The feel is family-based, and building from the students’ natural interests and curiosities. The values of respect, empathy, and stewardship are nicely built into all aspects of the instructional day.

The Montessori School of Wellington was established in 1996. We are located in a beautiful, residential area and are within walking distance of some of the oldest parks and landmarks in Guelph. We are the only CCMA accredited school in Guelph and offer half and full day programs to children 2.5 to 6 years of age. We are small, but we do it right!

I am Glynis Hamilton, the owner of the Montessori School of Wellington.
When I had my children I knew exactly what I wanted for them in terms of early childhood education. It was only when I visited a beautiful Montessori school in Toronto that I knew I had found what I was looking for.
I became intrigued by Montessori and so, at the ripe old age of 44, I went back to school and then switched career from legal secretary to Montessori teacher. Since that time, Montessori has become a way of life for me. The past 20 years have been a joy rather than a job.
I have moved from being front line in the classroom to the office doing more administrative work. But, my office door is almost always open to the classroom where I can hear the children’s laughter and welcome them in for a visit.

Frist of all, I completely disagree with the above description of the Montessori approach to education. Our goal is to impress upon our children how important it is to explore and discover in every area, without even considering the \"right answer.\" We impress on our chldren that the process is more important than the product. Once a child comes up with the \"right answer,\" everything stops. We encourage children to \"question the question.\" Unfortunately, many adults value a \"right answer\" to a provocative question.
