Agora is a place where my son feels loved, welcomed and part of a bigger family. Traditional public schools were challenging for him - you’re expected to fit in a box and taught never to think outside that box. Our goal was to find something different for our son who is energetic, creative, a deep thinker and loves to learn through talking and conversation. He loves at Agora that he gets to be creative in how he learns, at a pace that’s right for him! He gets to explore his interests while learning real-world skills like researching, presenting in front of an audience, and managing personal goals and timelines. He gets the opportunity to be a leader and always feels emotionally supported by his teachers.
My daughter has never attended school as she was starting JK and had a hard time being understood. She quickly excelled and we could begin to see the speech improving (after zoom speech therapy which wasn’t working) having the teacher correct her properly and have her slow down to pronounce words, was a very quick improvement and transition. She loves going to school, her Coaches (not teachers) guide her on her learning path and she’s excited about learning new things and loves to come home and give us a full presentation of what she has learned. She has quickly excelled and by the end of her JK year was already starting to work on the grade 1 curriculum, which is not at all the opportunity she would have had in public school. She is excited to be going back in September.
Coming from both the YCDSB and YRDSB where our son was struggling with mask mandates and repetitive online learning we are very happy and fortunate to be a part of the Agora Prep Academy community. The guidance from the staff and support has been fantastic! It is such a close-knit family between the staff, parents and students which is something we've never experienced before. The kids, regardless of their ages, have all become close friends. The older kids also mentor the younger kids in the classroom and when the children go outside for recess. Our child is learning above his grade level and looks forward to Mondays to return to school to see his friends and coaches. I would highly recommend Agora to anyone searching for a superior school.
