The after-school programs (Clubs), sports teams, community breakfasts and education awards are enjoyed by so many. It’s wonderful for the kids to have options after school and to continue to socialize in different groups outside of their classrooms. Each term there are new options offered to the students and the staff are outstanding at facilitating these clubs and teams. You can see the bond between the students & teachers, and that it goes well beyond the classroom. There is a very mutual respect and appreciation between them. I would even go so far as to say a friendship, because they are spending time with each other wearing different hats and getting to be themselves outside of classroom hours.
I do take part in many extracurricular activities here. I love being a part of the team because win or lose everyone is always cheering and being super supportive of one another. Think that everyone definitely has enough to do here- there are so many activities and teams. There are many after school clubs that are fun and a very own age ranges it is always fun to stay after school to have an club. Our coach, is also the best.
The Athletics Director is a gifted coach. He is incredibly encouraging and supportive and helped my kids to gain self confidence and athletic skills. Everyone is encouraged to participate. APA belongs to the Small Schools Athletic Federation which allows the sports teams to compete against other schools. The school offers a number of events and activities. They do some wonderful charity fundraisers throughout the year. There are clubs offered every night after school that cover everything from choir to Lego club to arts and crafts.
Aurora Preparatory Academy provides in each term of the academic year many different extracurricular opportunities, after school clubs for all students. For instance, chess, quite study, dodgeball, creative stem minds club, recycled art club, basketball, soccer just to name a few. My son really enjoys the after school clubs, where he also get to socialize and learn to work together in a fun atmosphere. APA is a member of the SSAF (Small School’s Athletic Federation), providing the students with many opportunities to compete with similarly-sized schools in a variety of team games, including: volleyball, basketball, soccer, ball hockey, track and field, cross-country, softball and golf. We're new to the school this year. My son was on the U10 Basketball team and it was a fantastic experience for him and all the team members. APA helps the students to become well rounded people through sports, extracurricular activities as well as academically. APA encourages and supports students in every aspect.
In my heart I know that Aurora prep academy has given my daughter LIFE that she didn’t experience in the Catholic school system. My daughter never wanted to play sports, or try for the talent shows she would always come home feeling bad saying she is not good enough. THE extracurricular activities at APA are amazing and have really brought out the best in my daughter to spend time with her new friends and teachers.
