(5) Student Experience
My son's self esteem has soared since joining BCA. He is finding success, and loves the hands-on learning. His favorite part about the school is the Special Programming for grades 6-8. He is in Edventure. A program that offers hands on learning in all subject areas that reinforces what they are learning in the classroom. My son has a Learning Disability and BCA understands how he learns and teaches to that. He has an IEP that is collaboratively created and followed. The smaller class sizes are also nice. The school staff and kids are all very inclusive, providing a positive environment that is contagious throughout the school. We have not found anything disappointing about the school, we love BCA.
(5) School Leadership
The school Administration and leadership are very communicative. They know all the kids and parents by name. We receive weekly email updates as to what is happening in the school currently, and what we have to look forward to. We have never had an issue that needed resolution, but if we did I know that the administration would be open and available to discuss anything we needed.
(5) Teaching
I cannot say enough about how great the teachers are at BCA. They are definitely passionate and knowledgeable about their subjects and teaching. My son is on an IEP. All the teachers follow his IEP and the accommodations outlined. The teachers understand his learning needs and they ensure that he finds success through his strengths. BCA has been a life changing experience for our son. Each class has Smart Board and all the teachers use them effectively. All the teachers communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback.
(5) Academics
(5) Extracurriculars
There are so many opportunities for the kids to participate in extracurricular. There are many sports teams and clubs. My son is not a sports minded child, however he found his way on the bowling team and absolutely loved it. He also joined cross country team. The school is definitely providing the right context in which to develop well-rounded kids.
(5) Students
When we first walked through the school for our tour, we immediately noticed how happy all the kids were. The general vibe going through the halls was so positive and warm. That is what my son gets to be a part of every day. We like the small school feeling but the school spirit is anything but small.
(5) School Life
My son loves going to BCA.
(5) Community
The parents have been very nice and welcoming at the school. There is a lot of opportunity to be involved at BCA if you so desire.
(5) School Location
The school is on a large property, backing onto a forest, which makes access to natural surroundings a benefit for all students, specifically those in Edventure program.
(5) Admissions
It was a great introduction to the school and after our first meeting, we knew it was the school for our son. They also offer various payment programs, and can provide access to additional funding should a family require it. Through volunteer hours, the parents even build a better sense of what this school community is all about.
