Question and Answers

Do some religious schools also accept students from another background? And if so, how does the school help the student fit in?

Expert Answer

Absolutely, many faith-based schools accept students from different backgrounds and make every effort to ensure that those students feel comfortable. You may like to learn more and read examples of how some schools do this here: http://www.ourkids.net/school/faith-based-schools.php as well as check out the Q&A with Barbara Bierman that may answer additional questions. We also host Private School Expos in the fall, which are a great opportunity to speak with some faith-based schools face-to-face about their programs and any questions or concerns you may have, as well as sit in on information seminars. Many parents find this a valuable resource to get information and help narrow down their choices: http://www.ourkids.net/expo/
