We usually advise when searching for the right school for your child, it is important to think about their needs and interests - how would the school help them? What is not working at their current school? Think about what type of school environment would help them most and involve your children in choosing a school where they will feel comfortable and supported, as well as interested in what they have to offer. Some schools will do virtual tours for interested families who live far away. Contact the school to ask what they might suggest could benefit your children and enhance their learning experience, as well as what you might need to know in transferring to that school, and any other questions or concerns you may have.
You may also be interested in attending any of the upcoming Private School Expos this fall where you can meet face-to-face with a number of different private schools all in one place as well as attend information seminars. Many parents find this helpful to learning more about private school education and narrowing down their choices: http://www.ourkids.net/expo/
My child doesn't seem to fit most private school's "business model" and we've already been rejected from one school. My son is gifted with ADHD. he is falling through the cracks! We have resulted in homeschooling this year but I want to know what other options there are out there.
