Question and Answers

What is the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT)?

Expert Answer

The SSAT is regarded by some as the gold standard of entrance exams and a number of private and independent schools use it as part of their admissions assessment. About 4,000 students in Canada and 50,000 across North America write the 2-1/2-hour aptitude exam every year. The test usually consists of two parts, including an essay and a multiple-choice section, examining a student's ability to solve complex mathematical problems, comprehension and language use. While all students write the same test, expectations take into account grade level.
