School's Perspective

How French Elite Montessori sees itself

The school administration answered our questions

Who are you, as a school?

"At FEM, we cultivate authentic Montessori pedagogy in an immersive English-French environment! Our aim is to make an equally important contribution through our "savoir, savoir-faire and savoir-être" to supporting and developing students' knowledge and learning from an early age. Our children are more than just a generation - they are the architects of the future, tomorrow's elite."

What do you do differently and uniquely well?

"We’re proud to be part of the authentic bilingual Montessori teaching with a genuine curriculum based on the Practical life, Sensorial, Languages, Maths, Culture and an extra curricular programs of Gymnastic, Yoga, Cooking, Science and Gardening.

In addition, the emphasis will be on raising awareness of "Mother Earth" and respect for flora and fauna, an essential means of preserving the future of our planet.

While FEM is immersed in an English and French environment, we will be introducing Mandarin during the 2026-2027 term."

What tradeoffs has your school made to serve families in this way?

"Accompanying and guiding children - in an environment of total bilingual immersion - is our mission.

The FEM school is committed to providing authentic, quality Montessori education that influences and supports lifelong learning of our Elite students by emphasizing the interconnectedness of nature and universal human values.

Based on the five elements of life (Air, Earth, Fire, Metal and Water), our values are our guiding principles for encouraging our students to be creative, generous, compassionate, honest and inclusive."

What type of student is a good fit for your school?

"The students and parents who benefit most from our teaching are generally those who believe in the great diversity and inclusiveness of today's Canadian society, and who are passionate about other cultures and languages (such as French).

These visionary parents want their children to be part of tomorrow's elite, excelling both academically and humanely with strong ethics, critical thinking and compassion for others."

Under what conditions would you advise a family against choosing your school?

"Families looking for strict discipline might not find our flexible, student-centered approach to education appealing.

Moreover, parents who are just looking for a basic daycare service for their kids may not be in tune with our philosophy and teaching methods"

To your knowledge, why do families choose your school over others?

"Montessori is a philosophy that can vary from one Montessori school to another. Some schools mention the use of Montessori methodology but simply use other childcare-related activities.

As with learning the French language, some schools may claim to teach French for the sake of notoriety, but what students actually acquire after three months of learning could determine the true teaching of the language.

At FEM, we promise an authentic Montessori teaching and an effective French language learning on the part of our students."

How would you characterize your school's image amongst the public?

"We are a bilingual, authentic Montessori school located in the Niagara region and supported by a passionate Principal and team."

What aspect of your school is underappreciated?

"Although we are a Montessori start-up school, thanks to their experience, our team is very confident in its teaching."

What improvements or changes has your school made recently?

"Two months of renovation work (inside and out) will make our school more efficient and meet the needs of our students and their parents, while complying with Ministry of Education standards."

How will your school change in the next 5 years?

"In order to enhance our students' ability to learn languages, Mandarin will be introduced for the 2026-2027 term.

In addition, our team will continue to gain knowledge in teaching students with special needs."

Message from school leadership

Madam Annick, Principal

“Driven by a passion for Montessori pedagogy and a love of early childhood, I wish to offer an environment based on respect for the child, his/her personality, rhythm, and stages of development, immersed in a full bilingual English and French environment.

Our children are more than just a generation; they are the architects of the future, tomorrow's elite.

Together with the teaching team, we have a shared responsibility to guide them with kindness and encourage them to explore their passions. By supporting them in their learning, we help forge a future elite that not only excels academically, but is also endowed with strong ethics, critical thinking and compassion for others.

Every child is a shining star, unique and precious. Together, as parents, teachers and members of the teaching team, we have the opportunity to nurture these stars so that they shine brightly into the future. I encourage you to continue to take an active part in our children's education, for it is together that we build a promising future”.
