The admissions process is not daunting and the staff work tirelessly to aid students in the process. It is not stressful. For residential students, early application can ensure a place in the dormitories as they can fill up. In my own experience, if someone wants to attend Great Lakes Christian High School, the school does what they can to make that possible. There is nothing particularly tricky about the admissions process, just apply early and be honest.

The admission process was extremely easy for me. I honestly don't remember very much of it because I was not very involved. Being a local Canadian day student there wasn't very much to be questioned. I always knew that I wanted to go to Great Lakes for high school so it was not a very difficult decision. I had been familiar with the school before from youth events. In grade 9, there were not very many options for classes, so it was not difficult to make my course schedule. It was nice being able to go to a welcome barbeque before the first day of class and do the orientation and everything. They now have a shadow day, which is a good opportunity for students to check out the school to know if it will be a good fit or not.

We had met an agent of the school at a School Fair so we were able to obtain all the information and assistance we needed. The agent was very helpful in ensuring that all the necessary forms for the application were completed, and where we had a question she didn't have information on, she always referred to the school directly for clarification. We also had direct access to the school if we wanted information from them directly at any point. The admission process was pretty much straightforward. The applicant was responsible for ensuring that the various transcripts were obtained from the previous schools and sent to the school. This was not a problem even though the school could request the transcripts directly. In all, we didn't find the admission process cumbersome at all.

The admissions process at the school is very efficient. We applied from outside of Canada under international admissions and despite the distance the online application process was smooth and when I sent emails for additional clarification the international admissions officer was very responsive. Once we made agreed payments they were able to send all required documents for visa processing very quickly hence we were able to complete all processes way ahead of the start of the school year. They were proactive in providing us information on arrangements for airport pick-up well in advance as well. I especially love the free laptops given to all students for learning during the duration of their stay at the school. This is returned to the school at the end of the school year. However, a kind of guarantee is signed for responsible usage and to mitigate against careless damage.
