The quality of life for my children at Guiding Light is excellent. They love going to school because of the teachers, their friends/peers, and the fun and exciting things that they learn and experience at the school. The school day begins at mass at St. Joseph, a parish near the school. The children and bused back to the school for morning prayer. The school day then progresses with classes in the various subjects. The one huge thing that I love is the religious program at the school. The Heralds of the Gospel head the religion program and it is very, very strong. It is one of the main reasons why we put the kids at Guiding Light. The school will also hold events like Mother's Day celebration, a sports day called GLA Games, etc. Parents are involved and get to see their kids perform, etc.

My children really enjoy going to school at Guiding Light Academy. They really like how everyone knows their name, and how they are individually greeted in the morning and at dismissal. They relish in knowing that they always have someone looking out for them. One of the teachers in particular Ms. Dante is fabulous. When she is present I rely on knowing that my children's best interest are always priority for her. Although I mentioned this teacher in particular- in reality all the staff is very loving, caring and really wants to see our children excel in everything they do. They truly take your child's accomplishments as their own. My children love the spiritual aspect of Guiding Light, this is where they have learned more about their religion and have been encouraged to grow in their faith. The daily mass and rosary are essential in the overall growth of my kids. They also really enjoy the weekly points/treat day where classes are awarded points based on their behaviours during the week and those with higher points win a small prize. This truly motivates my children in wanting to be on their best behaviours as soon as they walk through the school doors.

School life at Guiding Light Academy is perfectly balanced, with each day comprising spiritual activities, academics and social interactions. The students begin each day with mass at the local parish allowing them with time to give thanks and self-reflect. Students also come together to pray in the morning, afternoon and before mealtimes. This habit empowers them to learn, practice and grow their faith, developing them into strong individuals. Students heighten their education at Guiding Light Academy with various forms of teaching outside of workbooks, such as hands-on workshops, experiments and creative art integrated into the subjects, the children are able to grasp concepts and comprehend material. In addition to the daily interactions that students have with each other, throughout the school year, they participate in social activities such as social dinners, games, dances, plays, etc. All in all, Guiding Light Academy provide my son with a good array of activities and experiences to keep my son stimulated, and he is very happy with it.

My children enjoy going to Guiding Light Academy, because the school is like a big family, everyone is friends with each other, and they enjoy the curriculum. I believe the Catholic character and the size of the school has really helped to foster the positive environment. Before covid, the the children would attend Mass at the nearby Catholic Church, then get bussed 3 minutes to school to start the academic portion. Prayer plays a major role at Guiding Light and the students pray at set times throughout the day. Although they have a general daily schedule, the school has different themed weeks here and there so that they can focus specifically on a certain subject for an entire week. One thing they could improve on is having a larger yard to play in, but that is limited by the size of their lot so I'm not sure if much can be done there. But that didn't seem to affect my children's happiness there much.
