The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a prestigious international award. It is entirely non-competitive, meaning that participants work at their own pace. The aim of the award is to develop the whole person – mind, body and soul. The award focuses on four main areas of development: fitness, skill, service, and outdoor exploration.
The “Duke of Ed” Award can be a strong asset on post-secondary applications, scholarships, CVs and resumes. Whether applying for post-secondary education or about to enter the work force, the award shows commitment and achievement, as well as dedication to a variety of activities.
Our Duke of Ed participants (pictured on their October hiking trip) have had a promising start to their award journeys. With over twenty students currently working on their Bronze Award, we are sure to see many of our students reach their goals this year. We recently celebrated the success of one of our alumni, as he achieved his Gold Award after years of hard work. Helping our students to achieve their award goals is one of many ways that we prepare our students to be future global leaders.
