Momentum Montessori School is a preparatory school for families who wish to give their child the best opportunity to excel in the Ontario education system. We will not only meet the expectations required for students entering the public or private sector but offer a holistic approach to advance learner comprehension and application for an evolving world.
We provide daily immersion of Mathematics, Reading, and Writing in the English language while building student empathy, patience, self-confidence and self-worth. Our goal is to educate students to think globally but act locally by also teaching them about technology, physical literacy, and music. We will develop our students understanding of the English language while also teaching them to speak Mandarin, French, and Spanish. With a variety of student-based learning opportunities, our teachers will guide our students to enjoy the process of exploring and discovering the world around them. This is highlighted by our experimental learning program which will take students out of the classroom and explore the best attractions the great city of Toronto has to offer. We also invite educational programs and professionals from the community to bring their passion for education to our school. When we have visitors, we have students take on leadership roles and act as Momentum Montessori ambassadors for our welcomed guests.
Healthy active living is a corner stone for Momentum Montessori and we offer up daily physical education opportunities of moderate to vigorous activity in a fun filled environment while promoting proper hygiene. Our school believes in making the healthy choice, the easy choice and that is why we offer a catered food program by Real Food for Real Kids which is entirely based of organic, non-genetically modified, or artificially flavoured food. A healthy start is a smart start.
The incorporation of technology in education has shown to provide even higher levels of comprehension with learner development and cognitive growth, which is why Momentum Montessori uses SMART technology in its curriculum. Using SMART board technology and student tablets helps provide a fun and interactive learning stream while developing student confidence with technology.
An introduction to the Arts is vital for a developing mind. At Momentum Montessori we teach our students a variety of performing arts skills including singing, public speaking, movement to music, and instrumental music. Our students will gain experience with playing the piano, percussion, and string instruments. Momentum Montessori encourages our students to have as much fun as possible playing music and grow a deep seeded appreciation for the Arts.
At Momentum Montessori we believe the Montessori Method is an excellent way to introduce learners to a wonderful life of learning but we also believe in honouring the traditional teaching strategies students will encounter once they graduate.
