Faced with challenging demographics, declining enrolment, rising costs and a growing deficit, the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to close Queen of Angels Academy in Dorval, Quebec at the end of this 2013/14 school year. Parents are urged to attend tonight’s information session where the school will explain the context for this decision, answer your questions and discuss the support they will be providing you and your daughter over the coming months. It is with profound sadness that Queen of Angles makes this critical announcement, but it has been made after a comprehensive analysis of all options and the financial situation.
In order to compensate for the smaller student body, Queen of Angles Academy has had to almost double their tuition fees over the past seven years, and projects a similar trend to continue. Something that is clearly unrealistic.
After exploring many strategic options without success including co-education, offering Grade 12 and CEGEP courses, adding a French stream and merging with other independent schools, the Board of Directors only recently exhausted their efforts on the most favourable of these initiatives.
