On Saturday, May 25, 2018, Randolph-Macon Academy's Class of 2018 gathered in Melton Memorial Gymnasium to celebrate their graduation from high school. They also celebrated the fact that every student had been accepted to college; in fact, the 68 seniors earned 230 college acceptances to 139 different colleges, and also garnered over $6.2 million in college scholarship offers.
Randolph-Macon College President Robert Lindgren was the guest speaker for the event. He encouraged the students to "live by their gratitude." "Expressing gratitude regularly is, quite simply, a powerful way to keep yourselves mentally and emotionally balanced throughout your lives," he told them. He also encouraged them to seek the "why" in their lives. "The choices we make, the way we live our lives, and our commitment to discerning who we want to be, define us," he said.
The valedictorian was boarding student Kathleen Fedzer, who also spoke at graduation, and the salutatorian was day student Ryan Latham, who spoke at the Class Night event on Thursday evening, May 24th. Latham was also voted Best All-Around Cadet; he received that award during Class Night.
