Chris Peter, a teacher at Randolph-Macon Academy (R-MA) Middle School, has been named one of Washington Family Magazine's Teachers of the Year for 2018. Mr. Peter was recognized for his outstanding dedication to his students and his determination to use cross-curricular projects to help engage his students and develop a love of history and government.
Mr. Peter was nominated by Director of Communications Celeste Brooks, who is also an R-MA parent. Ms. Brooks stated that while she was attending activities or interviewing students or teachers at the Middle School, the evidence of Mr. Peter’s projects and his sincere caring for his students were evident throughout the school. His name was frequently spoken by students for his ability to listen as well as his motivational speaking in both the academic environment and on the soccer field.
