Towards the end of my grade 12 year i was in a time limit to complete the course in order to keep my university acceptance. Ontario virtual school helped me in all the ways that they could in order for me to get the course done while still doing good in the course. They helped me by emailing my university and telling them the information i needed to get shared. The school also helped me with my stress. The guidance this school spread was amazing and helped me a lot when it came to my university placement. This school made the time limit i was in a much less stressful experience as they helped me and went out of their way to make sure that i would be alright.

I felt that I was supported 100%, after completion of the course (i.e when all your marks are finalized and possible errors are realized) the instructor takes it upon themselves to submit marks to OUAC and then forward them to possible universities you are applying to. This is an extremely important step because if universities do not receive your marks, then the calculated average they have is incomplete and your acceptance depends on this heavily. This has happened to friends of mine with different schools, they found out one of their marks were not submitted when they called a university to ask why they were not accepted while they had a very good average. It turned out to be that they did not receive that mark and so the university took the next best mark which brought their average down. They sorted it out and eventually got accepted. Going with OVS you would not have to deal with this problem because they take it upon themselves to submit these marks.

The school helped me achieve my diploma and made sure I had enough credits to graduate. They messaged me and let me know what courses I was missing that way I would complete them in time so I would be apply to attend my post-secondary school on time. When I applied at my university they gave me what was needed to apply i.e. my marks were uploaded on OUCA right when I finished them. My transcript was sent to the university immediately. The administration emailed me and asked what school I got offers too and if I had accepted any they really care about their students and wish the best for them.

OVS is an online school platform therefore there was not a direct counselling service. However, I felt extremely comfortable to reach out to any administration along with my teacher. If something came up, I knew I was in a safe space to reach out to the teacher and ask for guidance. I also found the teachers were really helpful in giving university and career advice. I was very lost in high school and felt like they helped to shape my career choice and showed me many options of potential pathways that I was interested in. I was inspired by my teachers throughout this experience and have gained a passion for education, which is what I plan to progress into. Their guidance really went a long way.

As someone who has been through university before, I did not really need any counselling for university. Though, the school's website offers much information on university help if it is needed. However, since I am trying to apply as a mature student, I needed help on the application process. The school's website has a lot of information on how to correctly apply and which university to apply to. But if that is not enough, again, the admin staff is highly informative when it comes to applying to university. As I was taking the courses, I would periodically get notifications and messages on deadlines to apply for university programs and what steps had to be taken which I found very helpful. For best results, any future students applying to this school should talk straight to the admin staff as they would be able to get you all your answers and they are all very friendly.
