Orangeville, ON | Grades JK - 8 | Shortlist
The school has lots of variety for all kinds of students and balances sports with other extracurricular activities very well. This year my son joined cross-country running and he went to the school meet and had a fabulous time. He has always enjoyed running and is a team player as well. There is plenty to do for every child in the school, only if they wish to participate in sports. I hope some year they bring baseball as a sport to the school, my daughter really enjoys it!
My child participated in plays and volleyball this year. These were both great opportunities for her. She learned to act and be on stage and memorize lines. She also had opportunity to go to a volleyball tournament for the day. In grade 5/6, my child participated in a band adjudication (field trip) at Canada's Wonderland. This was a great opportunity to hear other schools play and receive feedback.
Extracurriculars at OCS are meeting needs of our family. My kids have felt empowered to try out for things that they would have otherwise been intimidated to try out for. The SHARE program has made it work for our family as well as we have two working parents - we can schedule before- or after-care for the others to allow the one participating to make practices or games.
