While I was a student at Rowntree Montessori Schools, I was very heavily involved in extracurricular activities ranging from sports to Model UN to academic competitions. The opportunities to join such activities were plentiful, and they ranged slightly on the side of being more for fun and learning new skills, rather than being super competitive. These extracurriculars allowed us to engage with our fellow classmates and our teachers in a less formal environment and learn outside-the-classroom skills such as teamwork and communication.
Rowntree Montessori Schools (RMS) offers a lot of extracurricular opportunities for students to participate in before and after school. I am a firm believer in striking a balance and I feel RMS has provided a decent offering of extracurricular activities for students to participate in their desired extracurricular activities from Kindergarten to Grade 8. This does not not only promote collaboration or sportsmanship, but it helps to conjure well-rounded students, in general.
RMS offers a range of exciting extracurricular activities. My daughter is in the choir, music, tennis, monkeynastics, coding and martial arts. What I love is that I dont need to look anywhere else! The activities are right after-school and offer a great fun way for my daughter to end her school day What I would love to see at the school is a competitive gymnastic program or dance at the school.
I would say that there are a vast number of extracurricular opportunities offered at RMS for competitive and for fun purposes for my child. These activities are very well thought out and very much appropriate and provides the right context for developmental purposes for students. The options are not limited and there is an activity for just about every child based on their individual interests.
