Students are not permitted to leave the campus premises between the time they are dropped off in the morning and when they are picked up in the afternoon. However, just so you can have an idea of the surrounding area, the Academy campus in particular is located in a residential neighbourhood just off Bovaird Drive near Hurontario Street right across from the Walmart plaza. The area is extremely safe, with the only problem being that having a major street next to school can get noisy at times.
Rowntree Montessori Schools serve the Brampton region well. Based on conversations with other parents, I found out that all the locations have suited them well. I am a parent with my child attending the Academy which I believe stands out and uplifts the surrounding neighbourhood. Though it is close to the main road, I do not find it to be an impediment to the holistic offering of academics, sports & arts the school offers. Moreover, students do not need venture beyond the school grounds unless it is for an externally hosted event where parents or teachers supervision are mandatory.
The downtown campus is great because its walking distance from gage park, peel art museum, library and more which means when its summer the kids are always venturing out to these places to learn and have fun. The campus also has an indoor gym which is large enough for the kids to run around and have fun during the colder months.
I love how the school is very much easily accessible and not just standing alone in a secluded part of town. I also love that although it is right in a residential area, it still has it's own private and secure playground for the kids to play without having to go outside the school premises for safety reasons most importantly.
