Find out about Toronto private school rankings.

Here are some benefits of Toronto private schools:

Going to School in Toronto

Toronto, which has a population of over 2.7 million people, is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. Here, your child will probably interact with students from many different backgrounds. Toronto is one of the best cities in Canada for exposure to diversity, global education, and innovation.

Private School Regulations in Ontario

The Ontario Ministry of Education legally requires all private schools in the province to register and provide annual statistical reports. Every Ontario private school must file a yearly Notice of Intention to operate with the Ministry of Education. Although all private schools in Ontario are considered businesses or non-profit organizations, the ministry must inspect a private secondary school in order to authorize it to award credits for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

The ministry does not inspect private elementary schools except for those with a registered complaint. Therefore, parents are encouraged to exercise due diligence and do their research, including finding out a school's reputation through students, parents, and reputable media reports. You may also find out the status of a school on the ministry's website. Our Kids also hesitantly offers some Toronto school rankings based on specific, verifiable factors including admission rate, cost, age, and other factors.

Private School Expos

Toronto private schools are a staple at Our Kids. Meet with Toronto's top-ranked private schools and the best boarding schools across Canada at the Halton-Peel Private School Expo and Toronto Private School Expo in October. These one-day events are a must for any parent or student considering an alternative education.

Since 1999, Our Kids Private School Guide has served as a top resource on private schools in the GTA, the Halton-Peel region, and across Canada.

On this page, we list private schools in Toronto. Click on a school profile to learn more about it.
