This program is designed to build the following character traits:

  • Creativity: As an arts school, our number one focus is to harness our student's creativity and grow said skills to their biggest potential. We encourage creative problem solving, exploring conventional and unconventional approaches to their projects, and techniques application to their projects.
  • Self-regulation: In fashion design, it is imperative to be self-disciplined and focused as designing is a meticulous process. At our school, we teach the skills and mindset necessary that comes being a successful fashion designer.

Our program teaches fashion design in a personalized setting. At CCSA, we begin with the fundamentals of fashion design, sewing, understanding patterndrafting, and how to develop ideas from start to finish. We emphasize communicative and peer assessment, as well 1-on-1 critique, providing both settings to enhance our student's experience in a fashion environment. We also give guidance how to draw fashion illustrations, and provide an overview of fashion history and the cycle of trends. Materials used for the class will vary from fabrics, jewellery, threads, buttons, and zippers.
