AREA & ACTIVITIES
The course explores the jaw-dropping scenery of the Temagami region. The area has been home to the Anishinabek Peoples for time immemorial. Your group will canoe through the wilderness of Temagami’s deep waters, rolling rapids and rugged pine shores. This area includes pictographs on Lake Obabika, Bear Island, one of Ontario’s highest points, Maple Mountain and more.
During the course, you will navigate flat water in a canoe, learning the strokes and rescue techniques along the way. Everything you need for the expedition will be brought with you. The skills developed on the expedition include paddling strokes, map reading and navigation, camp skills, Leave No Trace, and teamwork and leadership. This route may include portages where you will need to work as a team to carry your equipment.
