Leadership 2: Leader in Training LIT (July 1-28, 2018 OR July 29- August 25, 2018)
For campers 16 years of age

The LIT program is one of two options as the second step in Camp Queen Elizabeth’s leadership training program. While the Leadership 1 program focuses on personal skill development and leadership within their peer group, the LIT program focuses on leading, teaching and role-modeling to younger campers at CQE. LIT is a co-ed one month program (either July or August). Participants spend two weeks as a “Resource LIT”, where they help team morning activities at camp, and spend the afternoons and evenings with the other LITs in programs that develop their programming and teaching skills. The other two weeks are spent as a “Cabin LIT”, where each LIT is paired with a cabin group for the session. They will participate in all cabin programs, and be given the opportunity to help lead several programs, all while under the guidance of experienced CQE Staff.

Prerequisites: Participants must be 16 years old by December 31, 2018. It is recommended that participants must have completed CQE’s Leadership 1 program, or an equivalent leadership program elsewhere and that they have their Bronze Cross swimming level, however these are not required.

High School Credit

YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth partners with the YMCA Academy www.ymcaacademy.org to offer an accredited Ontario high school credit within our Delaware, LIT, and Venture LIT programs. The majority of the credit requirements will be completed by everyone in the Delaware, LIT, and Venture LIT programs, but will only be graded for credit participants. Participants in the high school credit program must also be registered in either our Leadership 1: Delaware Program or one of our Leadership 2 programs. This is not a stand alone program. Course outlines can be found on our website, and Strong Kids Financial Assistance is available to families who qualify. For more information, contact [email protected] for more details.
