(5) Student Experience

My kids would come home with such positive experiences after attending Alderwood Academy. The teachers who work there are absolutely the best! After hearing that one of the teachers also teaches an after-school soccer program, I decided to sign my kids up for soccer with his team solely because the instructor was and continues to be phenomenal. I have signed my kids up for several programs throughout the last 8 years, and I have never seen an instructor be so good with children, specifically in terms of being so engaging, fun and knowledgeable. After attending Alderwood Academy, my kids would come home and teach me things they learnt and I enjoyed hearing about it. The knowledge they came back with and the creative ways the instructors went about teaching them really stuck in their little heads. I loved the variety of different fun and engaging activities that they had for all the children. I also loved how the instructors had such great communication with the parents regarding student progress. I was also thrilled to learn that they taught kids how to cook from an early age, as it is so important and helpful - you don’t get this benefit from other schools. The food they provided my kids was healthy and delicious! I am so grateful I discovered Alderwood Academy and look forward to continue sending my kids there.

Why Alderwood Academy?

The instructors played a big part in choosing this school. They are so good at teaching children, as the kids don’t even notice they are learning through all the fun that they are having.

Expectations vs. Reality

This school exceeded my expectations as my kids got things from this school that they would not get from other schools, such as learning the Polish language along with English and learning about how to prepare meals for themselves.

Your Advice

I highly recommend this school to others, as children learn so much here. The material that is taught to the kids is top-notch. Both the kids and the parents are all so happy with this school.

They definitely foster a positive learning environment. I believe they handle discipline issues well. I saw firsthand a child use inappropriate language, and they were instructed in a very smart way not to continue that bad habit. I was so relieved to see that being handled and not ignored.

My kids loved going here because they would have so much fun every day. The activities they took part in were so creative and differed each day which kept them very engaged.

I wish the school was located closer to my home. It is a busy area of Mississauga however it is easily accessible. There are a few parking spots available for dropoff.
