Caronport, SK | Grades 9 - 12 | Shortlist
My son enjoys the small class sizes and wide range of class options.
Everyone truly cares about the students and goes out of their way to make people feel welcome and included.
Excellent teachers and instruction. Very well prepared for next stage of life and options for challenges with the college being right there.
Opportunities are available for almost anything. The option to take college courses in high is present and a wide range of high school course options with excellent instructors.
The town is small but Moose Jaw is close and depending on the interests there is something for everyone. Students are encourage to be involved and try new things.
No one is ever left out and there is always something going on or to do for students.
We had known about CHS and Briercrest forever but never really considered it until we took a tour. We had looked at many different schools and none felt right for my son. The first thing my son said in the car after the tour was “I want to go here!” If it’s an option for sure take a tour and get a feel for the school. My son has been very very happy at CHS.
Parents are very involved. It’s a welcoming, open community and as parents of a student that lives in the dorms we feel very connected to the school and community.
Caronport is a bit isolated but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The WiFi is terrific and Moose Jaw with anything you could need is a short drive away.
The admissions was as straight forward and as easy as you could ask for. If we had any questions we could contact Tessa and be giving an answer instantly. There was never any confusion like we ran into at other schools.
Not too sure of this but I know they have presentations and sessions for the students. They provide opportunities and the students have to be willing to take advantage of those opportunities. They can take college courses while in high school with the proper planning - highly recommend doing that if possible.
