I ultimately chose and favoured this high school among others for my Grade 9 son, as I had a positive vibe during our school tour. I truly sensed an outstanding, caring, and safe atmosphere from the moment I entered the school. I was keen on finding a school that would offer a positive culture combined with a nurturing environment where my child can feel safe, happy, and motivated to learn every day.

The Erindale Academy has gone over and beyond my expectations as my grade 9 son is now in his 2nd month of high school. My heart is filled with joy to see my child happy, thriving to be the best he can be, and witness the positive changes from him.

This high school's leadership deserves the highest score possible. The dedication from the entire administration and staff is truly exceptional. The continuous communication on my son's well-being, activities, and academic performance is greatly appreciated. I am particularly grateful for the crucial support provided by the guidance counselor assigned to my son. What truly sets this school apart is their excellent communication. I receive consistent, thoughtful updates regarding my child’s day-to-day activities and academic progress. Crucially, the strong focus on student well-being is evident in every interaction. I feel fully informed and confident that my child is thriving in a supportive and proactive learning environment.

I give The Erindale Academy a perfect score for teaching quality. I am deeply satisfied with the level of instruction, noting that the small class sizes foster a highly personalized learning environment. This setup ensures that my child receives both the challenges and the support that he requires to thrive academically. As per my son's feedback on his teachers, the teachers are described as exceptionally passionate and knowledgeable about their subjects, translating into engaging and effective lessons. Their expertise, combined with a commitment to individualized attention, ensures my child is inspired to pursue deeper learning. Also, the teachers excel in providing feedback in a constructive and specific manner, guiding him towards positive improvements rather than ineffective, critical shortcoming comments. Therefore, I am happy and extremely satisfied with my child's teachers.

It utilizes a format where students focus on two-credit courses every two months, allowing for deeper, sustained focus. The curriculum is comprehensive, following the Ontario Ministry standards. The school's core academic strength is its individualized support and student-centered teaching. The small class sizes are exceptional, which I personally prefer for my child. I believe this setup enables teachers to quickly identify weaknesses and provide targeted assistance. The culture and atmosphere are supportive. I feel the program is exceptionally well-suited to prepare my child for their next steps. The perfect academic balance and personalized guidance will help my child develop the necessary soft skills and intellectual maturity to excel in their next step.

I personally look forward to my child's extracurriculars of choice throughout his high school years.

The students are kind, well-mannered, and respectful towards each other. They cultivate a culture of positivity, which makes the high school atmosphere exceptional. The dynamic between students is defined by respect, which promotes a global mindset, particularly given that the school has a large international student presence. Students interact frequently through small class settings and organized extracurriculars, building genuine social connections. The general atmosphere is warm and nurturing, allowing students to thrive intellectually and socially in a highly personalized learning environment. I am personally grateful that my child is in an environment where he is surrounded by well-rounded, respectful students who truly treat each other well.

This high school offers a highly personalized, university-preparatory experience where student life quality is largely driven by its supportive academic environment. My son now loves going to school here because of the dedicated, patient teachers and the small class sizes. Every student receives individualized attention and guidance due to the small class sizes. This approach greatly reflects in my son's grades, which are far better than they’ve ever been. This focused support helps students build confidence and develop a genuine passion for learning. The overall quality of student life is high in terms of academic support and community. The school fosters a tight-knit atmosphere, encouraging social-emotional growth alongside studies. Extracurriculars, like the Robotics, Art, and Sports Clubs, along with a student council, enrich school life and promote leadership skills. For prospective families, the Academy excels in individualized learning and preparing students for top universities, with a future-focused edge in areas like AP courses and programs related to AI. While facilities may be more modest than some larger private schools, the strong focus on teaching excellence and a challenging, yet supportive, environment is its key advantage. The campus's proximity to the University of Toronto Mississauga and Erindale Park also offers unique academic and recreational opportunities.

The community at The Erindale Academy (TEA) is structured around an individualized, student-focused approach, which influences parental involvement. A key standout is the high level of parental transparency and communication concerning student academic progress—parents can easily review marks, attendance, and receive personal updates from counselors and teachers when concerns arise. While parents are implicitly welcome to be engaged in monitoring and supporting their child's success, there are no formal, hands-on community roles like a parent council or consistent volunteer programs for parents. I believe this is largely due to the fact that most enrollments are international students, wherein parents are not physically present. Therefore, I feel it would be challenging for the school to provide a more explicit, visible opportunity for parental involvement in the life of the school—such as organizing school events, workshops, or volunteering.

The Academy boasts an exceptional and advantageous location, which is a major draw. Situated in the historic Erindale neighborhood of Mississauga, it provides a unique blend of natural beauty and academic opportunity. It is within immediate proximity to Erindale Park and the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) campus. The surrounding area is a safe, established residential community with mature trees and green spaces along the Credit River. The direct partnership and access to UTM facilities encourage significant venturing beyond the school grounds, integrating students into a university-level environment. Furthermore, the availability of major parks and public transportation right outside the door connects students to the broader, amenity-rich Mississauga community, supporting an active student life outside of classes.

The admissions process is easy and highly supportive, focusing on student fit. The admissions officer is very approachable, offering personalized guidance. Advice: Reach out to the admissions team early and ask questions! Be open about your academic goals and any challenges, as they actively tailor the fit. I found the support excellent and wouldn't change the welcoming, student-focused nature of the process. Please note that, though there is a high enrollment of international students, local students are greatly welcomed and encouraged at the school.
