(3) Student Experience

We truly feel blessed to have found Gatehouse. The learning environment, teachers and the community have surpassed our expectations. Our daughter is performing at a level beyond others her age, and she is always looking forward to attending school in the morning. The teachers are nurturing and patient. As we transitioned our daughter into Gatehouse, we were apprehensive to send our first to school at only 2.5 years old. The teachers made my daughter feel safe away from home, and it only took two days for her to start confidently walking into the classroom on her own. Gatehouse has taught her independence and confidence. We are forever grateful to this school for providing her a safe environment away from home where she can thrive. Thank you.

Why Gatehouse Montessori School?

When we toured the school, we noticed that the classrooms were structured. It wasn't a daycare, it was an actual school, which was a noticeable difference from many other Montessori schools that we visited.

Expectations vs. Reality

They have only met and exceeded our expectations. All I wanted was for my daughter to feel safe and learn in a nurturing environment, which she has at Gatehouse.

Your Advice

You won't regret it. It's a structured school where your child will learn independence and confidence. The community of parents are amazing, and the teachers and headmistress are attentive.

(5) School Leadership

They do. We have actually had incidents where my daughter was hit by another kid in the classroom, and I think that they handled it in a very professional manner. They even met with us one-on-one to sit and chat about our concerns, as this was our first child, and we were unsure of what to do in the situation.

(5) Teaching

The teachers are amazing. They are attentive and will pull you aside at drop-off to discuss any small concerns before issues arise. Very happy with the teachers.

My daughter is able to write her name, knows most letters and can start to put letter sounds together to form words. She is taught foundational skills as well, which translate into our home life.

There are no extracurriculars offered. However, the community of parents is very open about class registration, which is lovely to ensure students are participating in sports together.

There is a true sense of community at Gatehouse. The parents and children at Gatehouse are focused on ensuring the best academic foundation for their children.

(5) School Life

She absolutely loves Gatehouse. I don't believe there is anything else they could do to improve the quality of life of their students. They provide a well-rounded curriculum, which my daughter is always excited to share with us when she gets home.

As stated above, the parents are all like-minded, and we generally get along well to ensure the betterment of the school and one another's kids.

(5) School Location

It's a beautiful, serene setting with a creek on premise, tall wooded trees, and open air. It's a gorgeous and welcoming learning environment. Our daughter loves it.

(5) Admissions

It was not stressful or difficult. The school is very welcoming and eager to answer questions and assist in the admission process. We only had a positive experience.
