Toronto eSchool is excited to announce the launch of a new version of ENG4C, English Grade 12, College Preparation Online Course
This course emphasizes the consolidation of literacy, communication, and critical and creative thinking skills necessary for success in academic and daily life. Students will analyse a variety of informational and graphic texts, as well as literary texts from various countries and cultures, and create oral, written, and media texts in a variety of forms for practical and academic purposes. An important focus will be on using language with precision and clarity and developing greater control in writing. The course is intended to prepare students for college or the workplace.
Unit 1 will focus on skills that will be needed in any and all pieces of writing: vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, and presentation. The pieces of writing that will be used are all non-fiction and will help students incorporate real life examples into their writing.
Next unit is to become familiar with the background and content of the novel. To get a feel for what you are about to read. This will help students to understand the direction they are taking with their reading.
In the third unit, Students will be reading a variety of short stories and working with their elements and literary devices.
you will learn: the elements of the short story and literary devices.
By the end of this unit, students will have a general understanding of what media is. This lesson will focus on how to begin to examine different constructs of media.
