On Thursday, June 2, the entire school took to the outdoors to participate in the 2016 Gladiator Day. It began with a cheer off pep rally in the McEwen Gymnasium, followed by a chariot race, which saw Mackenzie House dominate both events to start the day.
Teams then split and headed with fervour to their designated activities in which they took to racking up house points. The four rotations included a game of Human Tic-Tac-Toe, Sponge Capture The Flag, Blind Volleyball and a Bouncy Castle Relay Race.
After both teams of each paper house completed the different activities, all students headed for Lefevre Field where the Tug of War took place. To finish off the day staff and students gathered at the waterfront to cheer on those brave enough to take the water in the Gladiator Jousting.
The School Life Class would like to express their gratitude to the weather gods for keeping the rain away and the sunshine out. It was a day well-spent on campus and together as a community.
