The Board of Governors of Foothills Academy Society announce that after 35 years, co-founder Gordon Bullivant has retired from his role of Executive Director. Gordon’s passion and commitment to Foothills Academy has contributed immeasurably to our success. As well, he has been a staunch advocate for individuals with Learning Disabilities at the local and national level for decades.
In June, the Board of Governors approved Gordon’s succession plan which included a recommendation of a Co-Executive Director model for Foothills Academy. This model will further strengthen the organization and allow both the School Program and Community Services to flourish and grow.
Gordon, as Founder Emeritus, has moved to a part-time consultant role to support the new Executive Director team. “I have great confidence in our continuing advocacy and conservative financial management and will remain on a consulting basis as, and if, needed. It has been a great ride and I am so proud of all those who have helped us become what we are as a collection of wonderful children, professionals, parents, staff, and community supporters.”
Thank you,
Tara Rihn, Chair of the Board of Governors
