Learning From Home

Music is an integral part of the student experience at Newton's Grove School. All Newton's Grove students engage in vocal music starting right from Kindergarten. By grade 5, students carefully consider and choose an instrument to study thereby entering our signature instrumental music program. Check out how our students have stayed connected through the sound of music. 

Our Senior students are composing original pieces of music in preparation for their exams. Each student has been asked to create an original piece of music, a challenge that involves combining musical elements in a way that has never been done before. This process involves a keen understanding of musical theory, as well as problem-solving and creative thought processes. 

Music at Newton's Grove engages and excites the music-lover in every student, given the number of students in our music program and the number of bands, serving all our students’ needs provided unique challenges. Students in grades 8 - 12 were asked to take a huge initiative and take responsibility for the training and exam preparation of the students in their sections. This meant helping them to learn new music, giving them direction, and keeping them on task. It was a huge success and a great learning experience for each music sectional leader!
