Madison Heisterman is on a great run this season.
The track and field star from Queen Margaret's School made an appearance in the Victoria International Track Classic at Centennial Stadium in Victoria and turned heads with a terrific performance for her age.
Heisterman bettered the B.C. 800 metre age group record she set a month ago, running the fastest time in Canada this year for 14-year-old girls of 2:10.12. She was racing in the Women's National Development section of the 800.
Heisterman placed eighth in that elite group of runners. Liga Velvere of Latvia, who's 24 years old, clocked the winning time of 2:04.34.
Heisterman is having a tremendous year with many outstanding runs, mainly against much older athletes.
