THE LYCEE LOUIS PASTEUR CONTINUES ITS TRADITION OF STUDENT EXCELLENCE

Calgary, AB - The Lycée Louis Pasteur, the international French school accredited by both Alberta Education and the French Ministry of Education, proudly congratulates grade 8 student Edouard Lécrivain and grade 9 student Grégoire Bibaut for their outstanding performances in two prominent competitions at the national and international levels.

Grégoire Bibaut represented the Lycée at the national Poetry in Voice finals in Montreal on April 20-21, while Edouard Lécrivain, as the winner of the North America zone, was selected to represent his region in the debate component of the 2015 UNESCO-sponsored AEFE Ambassadeurs en Herbe (“Tomorrow’s Ambassadors”) meeting in Paris from May 11-14.

The diligence and consistent commitment to excellence demonstrated by these students is a credit to their well-rounded bilingual education at the Lycée as well as to their dedicated parents. Céline Chauveau, who wears two hats as a Maternelle teacher at the Lycée Louis Pasteur and Grégoire’s mother, offers the following advice, “Always remind your children that being involved in school activities is not only about now. Studying in class and committing to your school community will also give you greater freedom and more options later in life.”

About the Lycée Louis Pasteur:

The Lycée Louis Pasteur (www.lycee.ca) is a private international French school from 3 years old to grade 12. It is accredited by Alberta Education, the French Ministry of Education, and the Agence pour l’enseignement français à l’étranger (AEFE), as well as by the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS), Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC), and the Alberta Association for the Accreditation of Early Learning and Care Services (AELCS).  The dual curriculum, which combines basic principles of Albertan, North American, and international education, ensures that students are bilingual in French and English and have advanced Spanish skills by the time they reach high school. Success in the Alberta Provincial Achievement Tests and Diploma exams, the French Brevet, and the French Baccalaureate is a key goal of the LLP program. The French Baccalaureate, identical at lycées across the globe, provides students with internationally recognized certification for admission into universities worldwide. The school is part of a global network of 488 international lycées which follow the same French curriculum, allowing students to transition seamlessly to another lycée anywhere in the world.
