(5) Student Experience
My time at RISE Academy has been a very positive and meaningful experience. From the moment I joined the school, I felt supported, understood, and encouraged to grow both academically and personally. RISE is a school that truly values its students and works with them rather than against them. One of the most impactful parts of my experience was the strong relationships I built with my teachers. I had a great bond with all of them, but Abbey especially made a huge impact on me this past year. She took the time to understand me as a person and as a student, which made learning feel more comfortable and motivating. Before Abbey, Emma was also an amazing teacher who left a lasting impression on me. She was supportive, patient, and genuinely cared about her students' success. While all the teachers at RISE are great, I was able to build especially tight-knit connections with them, which made my time at the school even more meaningful. RISE Academy is a very understanding and flexible school. The staff recognizes that every student has different needs, and they are always willing to help and make accommodations when necessary. This flexibility made a huge difference in my learning experience and allowed me to succeed in ways that felt realistic for me. Rebecca, as the leader of RISE Academy, sets a strong example for both staff and students. She leads with understanding and professionalism, and it’s clear that she truly cares about the school community. Her leadership plays a big role in creating the supportive and welcoming environment that RISE is known for. Overall, my experience at RISE Academy has been extremely positive. The supportive teachers, strong leadership, and flexible approach to learning helped me grow and feel confident in my education. I am very grateful for the relationships I built and the support I received during my time at RISE.
The Best Part
The best part was how flexible it was, and not always having a burden on your chest. It is a lot more stress free then typical school, and i find my grades got better when i was involved in choosing what we were going to learn about. I learned about managing money, taxes, salary, real estate. It is more useful to learn about real world things.
Suggested Improvements
Making sure that each student is finding their teacher the right fit. i found that i learnt better when i could build a relationship with my teacher.
Hidden Details
How much more enjoyable school could be when you're included in decisions, and want to learn about it. If schools can switch curriculums to real world, and choosing courses that fit your chosen career path or interests us kids would be far more successful.
