Interview with St. Jude's Academy PARENT, Lisa and Shawn Ramautor
Lisa and Shawn, parents at St. Jude’s Academy, shared their perspective on the school’s inclusive and supportive community, passionate teachers, open communication, and strong commitment to student growth. They reflected on how their children feel excited to attend school each day and are encouraged to push beyond their comfort zones, develop confidence, and reach their potential both academically and personally.
Highlights from the interview
We did look at a few options in the area, and after meeting with the principal, reaching out to them and chatting with them, it was a slam dunk to go through that. But we did have an exhaustive search, and again, coming from another private school, we did look at some options and understood what was involved in it.
They wake up in the morning with a smile on their face, excited to start school… And what's amazing is, at the end of the day, when they come to me at the car, they're excited to talk about their day. They have to take turns in order to speak because of how excited they are to talk about what they did throughout the day.
At Scholars Hall, it's such an inclusive environment for the children. The children feel included with whatever they're doing, whether it's learning or extracurricular activities. The teachers strive to get each child involved and engaged in whatever activity they're doing, whether it's socially or academically.
Whether we have any questions or the students have any questions, we've always felt that there's a very open line of communication about anything… From day one, after the first parent-teacher interview, all of the teachers that they've had have said, "Look, if there is something that you need, you need to reach out to us. Feel free to reach out to us. If we need to set up an additional meeting, we're there for that."
You can just feel the care for the students and the belief that they want each and every student to succeed… They want them to succeed academically, but also grow as individuals and maximize their potential.

- Principal McKee was our first point of contact, and she was absolutely phenomenal in reassuring us and answering any questions we had about the school and what the kids should expect in the school year.

Even as an 11-year-old and an 8-year-old, they actually come and tell us that one of the biggest things they like about the school is that they were pushed. They weren't allowed to just basically give up. That wasn't an option for them. It was like, "No, we'll figure out a way for you to do this and excel."
Get in there in person and get a feel for the family atmosphere that you're going to get once you're in there.
All the teachers that we've talked to are so passionate about their jobs and what they do and how they love to help and educate their children. We are proof of that, that the school is truly a gem, and we hope that every family that watches this video sees and is inspired by St. Jude's Scholars Hall.
If you have somebody believing in your child as a parent, you can't put a price on that. And the passion and desire for growth and for learning and for success sealed it for us.
