(5) Overall Experience

I attended for five years, and it truly shaped who I am as a student today. When I think back on my time there, I remember feeling excited to go to school each day. The program sparked my curiosity very early on and made me genuinely interested in learning. I wasn’t just memorizing information; I was exploring, asking questions, and discovering how things worked. That early love of learning has stayed with me. My teachers were supportive, encouraging, and always pushed me to do my best. They challenged me academically while also teaching me how to be independent and responsible. I learned how to manage my time, stay organized, and take initiative in my work. Now, as a Grade 9 student, I can clearly see how those early years built my strong work ethic and confidence. I am very grateful for my experience at Stirling Montessori and the lasting impact it continues to have on my success.

Looking Back

What stands out most to me about Stirling Montessori is the hands-on approach to learning. Using materials to explore concepts made even difficult ideas easier to understand and helped build my confidence. Being able to interact with what I was learning made lessons more engaging and memorable, and it encouraged me to think independently and stay curious. This active, meaningful approach to learning is what truly sets the school apart and made a lasting impact on me.

Current Perspective

Looking back now, I realize how much I benefited from the small class sizes and being able to work at my own pace. Having that space allowed me to build confidence, stay motivated, and truly understand what I was learning without feeling rushed or overlooked.

Your Advice

One honest piece of advice is to fully embrace the independence encouraged at Stirling Montessori Academy. The supportive teachers and calm learning environment help students build confidence, responsibility, and strong learning habits that prepare them well for future academic and personal success.

(5) School Leadership

I remember the leadership at Stirling Montessori Academy as warm, supportive, and very involved in daily school life. The administration often visited classrooms and took an active role in school initiatives, showing they genuinely cared about students and teachers. They were approachable and encouraging, which made it easy to feel comfortable and supported. There was also a strong sense of community, with leadership helping to build positive relationships between teachers, students, and families. Their presence helped create a welcoming and respectful environment where everyone felt valued and motivated to succeed.

(5) Teaching

The teaching at Stirling was thoughtfully individualized to each student’s unique learning style, which made a tremendous difference in my growth and confidence as a learner. I consistently felt that the teachers went above and beyond, not only to ensure we understood the material but also to connect with each of us personally and support us in reaching our full potential. Their passion for teaching was evident in every lesson, and they consistently encouraged exploration, curiosity, and creativity. They followed the interests of the students, allowing us to engage deeply with topics that inspired us. I credit my teachers at Stirling with fostering a genuine and lasting love of learning, as well as the confidence to pursue knowledge independently and enthusiastically. I attribute this foundation to my success thus far.

(5) Academics

Stirling Montessori Academy is a CCMA-accredited Montessori program with a strong and well-rounded academic curriculum. From an early age, I began developing reading and writing skills in a supportive and engaging environment, which helped me build a solid academic foundation. The school fosters a culture of curiosity, independence, and self-motivation, where students are encouraged to explore their interests and take ownership of their learning. The teachers are dedicated and attentive, creating an atmosphere that balances challenge with encouragement. Thanks to this individualized and rigorous approach, I transitioned to a Catholic school in Grade 4 feeling confident and well-prepared. My academic skills were strong, and I was ahead in many areas, which made the transition smooth and reinforced my love of learning. My academic confidence continued to grow.

(5) Extracurriculars

The extracurricular program at Stirling Montessori Academy provided a positive and supportive experience that helped students grow beyond the classroom. There were a variety of extracurricular opportunities, and the atmosphere was welcoming rather than overly competitive. Students were encouraged to participate for fun, try new activities, and build confidence. Extracurriculars focused on personal development, teamwork, and creativity rather than just winning. This helped students develop important life skills such as leadership, responsibility, and collaboration. Overall, the school did a great job of helping students become well-rounded individuals through meaningful extracurricular involvement.

(5) Students

The student body at Stirling Montessori Academy was relatively small, which created a close-knit and welcoming atmosphere. Because of the smaller size, students built strong relationships and genuinely knew one another. The overall spirit was positive, respectful, and focused on personal growth rather than competition. The typical student was curious, responsible, and independent, though there was a wide range of personalities and interests. Some students were outgoing leaders, while others were quieter and thoughtful, and both were equally valued. Kindness, responsibility, and strong work habits earned the most respect among peers. Students shared values like respect, inclusivity, and a love of learning. The community was ethnically and socio-economically diverse, which strengthened understanding and friendships. Overall, students interacted supportively, collaborated often, and formed meaningful, lasting connections.

(5) School Life

I was always happy to go to school at Stirling. I met wonderful friends who challenged me and encouraged me to explore new interests both inside and outside the classroom, from academic projects to creative activities. The small class sizes allowed for personalized attention, and having the freedom to choose my own activities and work at my own pace meant I never felt rushed, overwhelmed, or stressed. Instead, I felt calm, supported, and genuinely excited to learn each day. The teachers were attentive and passionate, always guiding us with patience and encouragement. This nurturing environment made learning a joyful experience, helping me grow academically, socially, and personally in a way that felt natural and deeply fulfilling. My time at Stirling fostered curiosity, independence, and a lasting love of learning.

(5) Community

What stands out most about the broader community at Stirling Montessori Academy is the genuine sense of connection between students, families, and staff. It never felt like just a school; it felt like a supportive community where everyone knew and cared about one another. Parents were absolutely welcome to be involved in school life, whether through events, classroom activities, or school initiatives. Their involvement strengthened the sense of partnership and made the environment even more supportive. My experience within the alumni community has been positive as well. Many former students stay connected, and I have kept in touch with several classmates since leaving. The friendships built at Stirling were meaningful and lasting, reflecting the strong foundation of community the school fosters, and continue to this day.

(5) School Location

What stands out about the surrounding neighbourhood and community of Stirling Montessori Academy is that it feels welcoming, safe, and well-connected. The area is quiet and family-friendly, which complements the school’s nurturing environment. While the school provides a rich, self-contained learning experience, students have opportunities to venture beyond the grounds through field trips, community projects, and local excursions. These activities allowed students to engage with the broader community, explore new environments, and apply their learning in real-world contexts. Overall, the school felt like a supportive hub while remaining connected enough to encourage exploration and practical experiences outside its campus.

(5) Admissions

If I were giving advice to someone planning to apply to Stirling Montessori Academy, I would say to approach the process with curiosity and openness. From my own experience, the admissions process felt very supportive rather than stressful. The admissions officers took the time to get to know both the student and family, asking thoughtful questions and offering guidance to ensure the school would be a good fit. They were approachable and genuinely invested in matching students with the right environment. My advice would be to prepare honestly, share your interests and learning style, and trust that the school’s team is there to help you succeed and feel comfortable in the community.
